Looking for a fun way to serve your community, and do it together?

Adopt-a-Shift at the Community Kitchen!

Volunteer groups of 3 to 6 people are invited to serve on a regular basis (weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly) to 'adopt-a-shift' at the Community Kitchen.

An easy way for your faith community, team, company, or organization to serve your community in a meaningful way, and serve together!

Requirements for Community Kitchen Adopt-a-Shift Volunteers:

    • Must be 16 years of age or older.  Children between the ages of 10-15 are welcome to volunteer with a parent/guardian on-site guiding the child.
    • Participants are invited to join a volunteer orientation session together, to learn more about the Kitchen and volunteering in each role.  Orientation dates are scheduled directly with teams.
    • Volunteer Paperwork: Participants must (1) submit a signed waiver
    • A volunteer leader from your group will be in charge of scheduling, coordinating to fill each role for their adopted shift, and keeping in touch with the Community Action House Volunteer Coordinator.

Community Kitchen Adopt-a-Shift volunteers will serve in various roles at the Kitchen.
A typical shift is made up of the following positions:

    • 1-2 Servers / Greeters
    • 1-2 Dishwashers
    • 1-2 Food Preparers

All positions involve standing and bending during shifts, and lifting up to 30lbs
