Volunteer: Housing Access: Refresh NavigatorAs a Refresh Navigator you will be working directly with our guests who are currently experiencing homelessness; making confidentiality of upmost importance. You'll manage the sign-up list for guests looking to connect with our Housing Access Case Managers during Refresh. This includes coordinating with the case managers to ensure all guests who sign-up are seen, collecting basic intake information, providing helpful gear, offering a tour for new guests, and inputting data to count our metrics. We are looking for individuals who are able to commit to serving on a regular basis (weekly or monthly). Training will be provided during your first few shifts. Refresh is a program of First United Methodist Church, operated in partnership with Community Action House. Together, we serve our unsheltered neighbors by providing Hygiene Hope. This volunteered powered, drop-in center offers a warm meal, showers and clothing, with onsite case managements support provided by Community Action House's Housing Access Team. The House Access Outreach Team is dedicated to helping individuals overcome homelessness, recognizing the inherent worth and dignity of every person. Volunteer: Housing Access: Street Outreach Informational ConversationOur Housing Access Team is dedicated to helping individuals overcome homelessness, recognizing the inherent worth & dignity of every person. While the majority of individuals who experience homelessness in Holland seek shelter, there are others who, for various reasons, either cannot or choose not to enter one. The Housing Access Team is committed to reaching these individuals by going out to where they live, on the streets. As a Street Outreach volunteer, you'll be paired with a trained Outreach Specialist as part of a two person team that serves one 4 hour shift per week. The team locates and engages people who are living outdoors or are otherwise unsheltered through street outreach. All volunteers are provided with specialized training. Building trust is a key part of this work. To ensure a preserve the wellbeing of our guests, we invite you to join us for an interview to see if this opportunity would be an appropriate fit. During this informational conversation, we'll share length of time of the commitment, expectations, engagement with guests & your interest in this opportunity.
