Volunteer: Food Rescue at the Market: Van DriverAs a Food Rescue at the Market Van Driver Volunteer, you'll drive the electric van to the Market and collect produce that local farmers and vendors would like to donate at the end of the Farmers Market (farmers often refer to this process as gleaning)! These efforts help feed families right here in our community at Food Club, the Community Kitchen and by sharing out with other area nonprofits! Learn more about Lakeshore Food Rescue Here! Volunteer: Street Outreach: Interest InterviewOur Outreach Team is dedicated to helping individuals overcome homelessness, recognizing the inherent worth & dignity of every person. While the majority of individuals who experience homelessness in holland seek shelter, there are others who, for various reasons, either cannot or choose not to enter one. The Outreach Team is committed to reaching these individuals by going out to where they live, on the streets. As a volunteer, you'll be paired with a Trained Outreach Specialist as part of a two person team that serves one 4 hour shift per week. The team locates and engages people who are living outdoors or are otherwise unsheltered. All volunteers are provided with specialized training. Building trust is a key part of this work. To ensure a preserve the wellbeing of our guests, we invite you to join us for an interview to see if this opportunity would be an appropriate fit.
