Thanksgiving Banquet @ the Community Kitchen

Expired

Description

Provide a Thanksgiving Meal for anyone who needs it on Thanksgiving Day!

With no other meal services being held on Thanksgiving day, the Community Kitchen is stepping up to provide a meal to anyone who needs it in our community.

As you know, the Community Kitchen relies on volunteers for daily operations, and need your help to serve during this big event!

Help serve 250-300 meals!  The menu includes turkey or chicken with all of the gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and other typical Thanksgiving dishes. We will start prepping at 8am and then clean up as we go & after the meal.

The banquet will be held from 1pm to 3pm, with meals served on disposable plates.

Volunteer roles will include:

  • Meal prep
  • Chopping fruits, veggies, and more
  • Assembling plates of food
  • Serving guests
  • (enjoying a meal yourself!)
  • Greeting and socializing with guests
  • Clearing tables and straightening up in the dining room
  • Cleaning dishes in the Kitchen

Sign up for shifts below!  If you are unable to stay the whole duration of the shift, or need to arrive a bit late - we understand! It's a busy holiday for everyone, and any help you can offer is appreciated.

We look forward to sharing the holiday with you!

*Closed-toe shoes and hair restraints (hair tied back, wear a hat, etc.) are required while volunteering.*

Parking is available street-side on E 13th Street and College Avenue, and our Kitchen Entrance is on the Southwest side of the building. See map for instructions below:
