Lakeshore Food Rescue volunteers use the Food Rescue Hero app and are notified when food rescue pick-ups are available (like Uber – for food!). Volunteer as much or as little as you'd like, on your schedule. Claim a food rescue route through the app whenever it's convenient for you. To sign up as a Lakeshore Food Rescue Driver you need:
A smart phone to download the Food Rescue Hero app. Download the app on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store
Your own reliable form of transportation to use for the food pick up and drop off route
A valid driver’s license and car insurance
To have at least one individual in the car be 18 years or older.
